PAT G WINS SECOND EAST COAST STOP OF RED BULL EMSEE

PAT G WINS SECOND EAST COAST STOP OF RED BULL EMSEE

--Boston Local Wins Spot to Compete against Nation’s Best Freestyle MCs in Finals--

Boston—October 6, 2011 – Last night, eight of Boston’s freshest freestyle MCs headed to the Royale to battle it out at Red Bull EmSee but only one walked away the champion.  In a night filled with piercing punch lines and lyrical acrobatics, MCs Rage 617, D MAT, Resurch, Sir Locksley, Day Parks, Chilla Jones and One Life came ready to throw down, but it was Pat G’s quick wit and lyrical flow that earned him the champion title after an intense series of heated battles.  He’ll advance to the Red Bull EmSee national finals in Atlanta later this fall.  Last night’s battle, hosted by rapper Bun B, was judged by a panel of hip-hop heavies including Rakim, Pharoahe Monch and Jean Grae.

The Red Bull EmSee competition format puts a spin on the traditional rap battle by providing random prompts and cues on screens that the MCs needed to hit in each of their flows, challenging them to truly spit rhymes off-the-dome.  Winner Pat G explained his experience, “The key to this whole thing is happiness, original lyrics and having a good time out there.”  He continued, “The situation only humbled me. There is still work to do. I want the whole thing.” Pat G was able to impress all of the judges with his enthusiastic freestyle skills - Rakim noted that his “he had flow and originality with his rhymes.”

In between rounds, fans and competing MCs were treated to special performances by the judges but it was Rakim’s conclusion of the night that really got the crowd excited.

Pat G is originally from Hartford, Connecticut but has been located in Boston since 2003. At first, he was strictly into making beats until he gave into peer pressure and entered some freestyle sessions at the local youth center. His talents became evident and his witty punch lines plus his comedic style of rap quickly got him recognized as a series force when it comes to battle rapping. Pat G has amassed a long list of victims when it comes to battling, he also has similar success with his production skills. Pat began to work the Boston Hip-Hop show circuit. He opened for Canibus, Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T., Wiz Khalifa, DJ Premier, Artifacts, Reks, and Mr.Lif. Pat G decided it was time to step out of the shadows and linked up with Bridge Life Entertainment. Since then, Pat has produced songs for Reks, Termanology, Akrobatik, Edo G, Mr.Lif, Ripshop, and Big Shug just to name a few. Be on the lookout for this aspiring Emcee and Producer.

If Pat G indeed wins the national finals, he will be heading into Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica to work with a producer of his choice from a select panel.  But first, he’ll have to go up against some of the best freestyle MCs from around the country.  The next Red Bull EmSee battle will be hosted in DC on October 24, 2011 at The Fillmore.  For more event information, visit www.redbull.com/EmSee.

Jedi Mind Tricks "Target Practice" (Remix)

Written by BigC on .

For more than fifteen years, the name Jedi Mind Tricks has become synonymous with raw, gritty underground hip-hop.  From their debut album, The Psycho-social, in 1996 to their seminal sophomore release, Violent By Design, to their musical expansion heard on Servants and Heaven, Kings in Hell, JMT has made an indelible impression on the independent music scene (with over 400K units sold) while arguably forging its own subgenre of rap.  Led by the fiery vocals of controversial front man, Vinnie Paz (who also released a critically acclaimed solo-LP, Season Of The Assassin in 2010 which featured the underground smash “Street Wars” f/Clipse & Block McCloud and also guest apperances from Paul Wall, Freeway and Beanie Sigel), and his venerable rhyme partner, Jus Allah, the group has built one of the most critically-acclaimed and commercially-successful careers in independent music.

Though JMT rarely appears on Billboard charts, their success is most accurately measured in the passion and respect of their growing legions of hardcore fans who have packed JMT shows around the world from Boston to Bogota to Bucharest.  JMT’s music is defiant and their longevity is a testament to their blue-collar work ethic; born from the bloodlines of their hometown, Philadelphia, PA.

On October 25, 2011, JMT is set to drop its seventh studio album, “Violence Begets Violence”, through Vinnie Paz’s own imprint, Enemy Soil.  Though JMT fans can expect more of the uncompromising, unrelenting brand of hardcore rap music that has become the group’s signature sound, “Violence Begets Violence,” marks a change (something the group has undeniably become accustomed to over the years) as longtime JMT producer, Stoupe, hands over production duties to a new wave of talented producers honed in on the JMT sound; but set on creating a fresh take on a classic formula.

Jedi Mind Tricks “Violence Begets Violence” will be available on CD, vinyl, and via digital download on October 25, 2011.

Infinite Marvelous - Electricity

Written by BigC on .

This is Infinite Marvelous Electricity Project,10 tracks CD.  The artwork is done by Stayver.com. The production on this project is from X3M,Sinous and Janzoo.
The project is also mix and mastered by Janzoo. Infinite Marvelous is from Red Hook, Brooklyn New York.  This project was inspired from a freestyle.  The concept of this project has been
thought of for years. The idea came to me from a class that i took up in school called Telecommunications.  The word "Electricity" has been mentiond in prior records that have not yet been
released.  Everybody said that they spit crack, heat, heroin, dope, fire, but i wanted to keep it orginial and bring the "Electricity."

Slim The Mobster "Work For It" (Price On Ya Head) Directed by Derrick G, Prod by Nottz

Written by BigC on .

Undoubtedly, the west coast has birthed some of hip-hop’s most legendary artists and with the official arrival of Slim The Mobster, the West Coast tradition continues to carry on. The first record that Slim the Mobster, born Anthony Johnson, ever purchased was N.W.A’s  "Dope Man". Fast forward some years later, the South Central native is now the newest face on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath roster.

Shrouded in mystery, Slim the Mobster is the next protégé of a man who needs no introduction—but Slim’s tale is one worth telling.  The two west coast natives linked after Slim drove to Dre's studio and dropped off a CD with his phone number hastily scrawled on a lottery ticket. Within minutes, the good doctor’s assistant called the rapper to come back. Slim explains, “I talked for a few minutes with Dre and he said if I was patient and had some time, he wanted to work with me. It’s been on since then.” Jackpot.  To date, Slim and Dre have worked on over 200 songs for the long-awaited Detox.

In October 2010, "Mutha Fuckin Streets", the Dre-produced, Glasses Malone-assisted reference track hit the Internet and Slim quickly became a name the masses were curious about.  After receiving co-signs from music industry elite and earning his stripes in the studio, Slim is now ready to focus his attention on his solo project.

With a lyrical style that distinguishes him from other rappers, he spits confident verses that reflect the merciless urban jungle in which he was raised. A respected figure in the streets despite a checkered past, Slim explains,  “I been hustlin’ since I was 13-years-old, knee-deep in the streets and whatever came with it, came with it. I never want to portray somethin' that I'm not. That's why, when you listen to my music, you'll hear me talkin' about Crippin' and gangbangin' 'cause that's part of my past.”

Fresh out after serving a bid, Slim has been wisely spending his time in the studio. His energy has been focused on recording his Aftermath debut, as well as his first official street tape “War Music,” which is executive produced by hitmaker, Sha Money XL.

“War Music” is the next progression in the West Coast’s influence on Hip Hop. Dubbed “Fly Mobster Rap,” Slim has carved his own lane—a product of his unique style and life experiences. “War Music” features a strong supporting cast of gangsta royalty—with verses from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Sly, as well as production by Dr. Dre, Nottz , Bink, Seige, Monstracity, N.U.M, Jake One, Sid Roams, Sha Money Xl, and Keykat Productions.

If Dr. Dre's The Chronic launched Snoop Dogg's career, and his second solo album, 2001, helped establish Eminem, fans can expect Detox to bring Slim into rap’s highest echelon, alongside heavyweights like 50 Cent, Lil Wayne and T.I expected to appear on Detox. Slim The Mobster may not yet be a household name, but the streets of Los Angeles have already prepared to crown a new king.
