Donnie Walsh stated that he is looking for players that can play both ends of the court. More importantly, Walsh is looking for players that can create their own shot. Chris Bosh flat out gets the job done whether it is on the offensive or defensive ends of the court. On the offensive end he can postup on the low box or the high post. Bosh ability to go left makes it hard for anyone to guard him in single coverage. He also has an arsenal of moves from his spin move off the dribble to his fade-away jumpshot. It’s rare when you see a man of his height have the ability to take his man off the dribble and pull up for a nice jumpshot. His handle is just as good as most point guards in the league. Bosh has all these skills. Plus his passing ability out of the post is excellent feeding cutters to the basket or finding the open man from the double team. From midrange Bosh can knock down the jumpshot just as good as anyone. On the defensive end Bosh can block shots which will make Knicks opponents hesitate when driving to the lane. Not only that, Bosh has the ability to play solid one-on-one defense as well as help defense. Remember this is the same guy that works out with Kurt Thomas in the offseason. Bosh with Chandler and Gallo could be a solid frontcourt. Each player is capable of getting around 1 blocked shot a game. This will cause a player think twice about driving to the hole. Plus all three players are good at playing help defense and can really excel in 3-2 zone. Bosh in the middle would with change the dynamics of how opponents view this Knicks team. Last season Chris Bosh averaged 24 points,10 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Chris Bosh on the Knicks would give the Knicks something the Knicks need more of, and that is a player that can play both ends of the court and young star in the making. The Knicks are stacked with role players. It is time to get a 'game changer' who will force opposing teams to double team. If the Knicks can not get Wade or Lebron don't be surprised if Walsh gives Bosh a little less than a max type contract. As it stands the Knicks need 13 players to start the season. If Bosh signs with the Knicks and decides to take $600,000 to 800,000 less this would allow the Knicks to go after more minimum contracts.
