(Big C) So the current buzz on the city streets is that Isiah Thomas still has connections with the Knicks. Okay. So. Who's shocked by that information?  He is friends with Knicks owner James Dolan.

In fact, according to Steven A. Smith, Isiah Thomas was the guy that got Amar'e Stoudemire to sign on the dotted line to join the Knicks.  Isiah has a good eye for talent and a glass eye when it comes to cap management and building teams.

That being said, Isiah did manage to get the number #1 player out of high school to join a small college like FIU.  The New York Post also reported it was Isiah Thomas who scouted the new Knicks center from Russia, Timofey Mozgov two years ago.

"Before Thomas left the Knicks for FIU, he was working as a consultant to Walsh and made a scouting trip to Italy to watch Danilo Gallinari. The Post has learned Thomas also scouted, in Turin two years ago, their new 7-foot-1 Russian center signee, Timofey Mozgov."- New York Post

As far as Isiah's official years with the Knicks, I did not like what he did with the team. He made bad trades, signed players for long drawn out contracts, and gave away draft picks like they were parking tickets. 

If you can keep him away from the X's and O's  he can recruit  players to join the Knicks all he wants. I don't see how bringing in young talent can hurt the Knicks if Isiah Thomas really does have a good rapport with today's players.
