They have the same swagger about them. Both players play the same position and have the ability to score and pass the ball. Who am I talking about? I am talking about none other than the rookie Derrick Rose and the old Stephon Marbury. Derrick Rose's game reminds me of when Stephon Marbury first entered the league.  Marbury's rookie year in Minnesota he was averaging  close to 16 points, 7.8 assists a game, and 1 steal per game. Derrick Rose averages 16.6 points, about 6.2 assists, and about 0.8 steals a game. Derrick Rose is already taking the league by storm with his ability to take his opponents off the dribble and his sense of knowing when to take over games and  knowing when to score and when to pass. If people remember, Marbury was also an explosive player that had a quick first step and hops out of this world. Sounds familiar? It should, because that is what Derrick Rose is described to be. If Derrick Rose can bring 95% of what Marbury did earlier in his career (without the attitude) then we might have a future star right before our eyes.

My vote for rookie of the year is O Jay Mayo and Derrick Rose is not far beyond. After all it does not matter what you do your rookie year it matters what you do in the years to come that counts.
