The Eddy Curry Factor PDF Print E-mail
Written by BigC

Starting off on the wrong foot is one way to get your coach and new team president upset. Eddy Curry is a player that Knicks were expecting to come into camp in great shape however the opposite has happened. With the Knicks getting Mike D'Antoni as the new Knicks coach you would think that every player would want to get in the best shape possible. However, it seems Curry has missed the boat. Not only did he come into camp over weight but he showed his new boss that he does not taking the offseason serious.

Mike D'Antoni is a coach that wants to run up the score and push the ball up the court all day. This could be a problem for Curry who missed training camp and the first two games in preseason.  In order to be successful, Curry must get in shape, plus learn a new playbook.  Right now Lee and Zach are the 1 two 2 punch in the starting frontcourt. If Curry can work his way into shape he can become a force to be reckoned with in the low box and get back his starting role.  We all know that he is unstoppable in the paint. Curry just needs show he can not only score in the paint but run with the team in their new up-tempo style of play. If not, this will be a long season for Mr. Curry. I think Curry can adjust to the system if he puts the time in.  In periods that the Knicks are playing half court ball Curry can still be a deadly force that could keep our opponents honest on the defensive end.  One on one Curry is a beast that could force teams to double team. By forcing teams to double team Curry will lead to open shots for his teammates.  Can Eddy Curry turn things around? We will have to wait and see. After all, if Shaq can run with the Suns so can Eddy Curry
