New York Daily News-Stephon Marbury didn't exactly get a hero's welcome when he came back to the Garden Saturday night to see his former team play its home opener. The former Knick guard left in a huff when told by security to go to his correct seat. The latest bizarre chapter in the Marbury saga took place in the first quarter. According to Garden security sources, Marbury held a ticket for a seat in Row A, the second row off the court, in his first trip back to New York since getting bought out by the team last season. But instead, he took a courtside seat, in Row AA, near Spike Lee's regular seat, across from the Knicks' bench. The entire episode might not have been entirely Marbury's fault. Sources said a Knicks official sat Marbury in the wrong row when he got to the Garden. But when he was asked to move to his correct seat by security guards, he decided to leave the arena entirely. "I paid a lot of money for this seat, I don't want to leave," Marbury told one Garden security official during the confrontation. "But it's OK. I'll go." Marbury's trouble was taken in by several players and coaches. "I saw he was making an appearance at the game," the Knicks' Larry Hughes said. "But then he just left. Tags:
