(Big C) So far there have been big questions and concerns about when Raymond Felton and Amar’e Stoudemire be able to get the pick and roll working. Last week Mike D’Antoni pointed out that one of the main reasons that the pick and roll may not be working is because players are cutting to the basket and getting in the way of Amar’e Stoudemire. By the Knicks players moving close to Amar’e they are also bringing their man closer to Amar’e.
So the message from Mike D’Antoni to the rest of the team is to clear out or stay in one place while Amar’e and Felton execute the pick and roll
Setting up the Pick and Roll. Notice the Knicks players are standing in one place.
With everyone spreading out away from Amar’e and Felton they are able to run the pick and roll

So in order for the pick and roll to work with Amar’e and Felton their teammates must move out of the way to give Amar’e and Felton spacing to create.
Example 2
The main problem I have with this strategy is that it creates a system where players are just standing around and observing and not participating.
I feel the Knicks need to at least have another man moving so the pick and roll play will not be obvious to opposing teams. David Lee and Duhon took 15 to 17 game to get rolling. Let’s see how long it takes Felton and Amar’e.
